Tasty in my Tummy

A while back I was lurking on Pioneer Woman's site and discovered a most tasty treat to make. Subsequently, I made this heavenly dish for dinner and everyone loved it! I may even make it tonight. (I did mention it was tasty, right?) At any rate, I don't know where she got the recipe from.. all I know is that I heart it, and I credit her with bringing it to my epicurian world.

BBQ Meatballs - I highly reccommend these tasties served with rice and some greanbeans to round out the meal, but Pioneer Woman prefers them served over mashed potatoes. You can make your own call.

Ingredients

FOR MEATBALLS

1-½ pound Ground Beef

¾ cups Oats

1 cup Milk

3 Tablespoons Very Finely Minced Onion

1-½ teaspoon Salt

Plenty Of Ground Black Pepper, to taste

_____

FOR COOKING MEATBALLS

1 cup All-Purpose Flour (coating For Frozen Meatballs)

Canola Oil

_____

FOR SAUCE

1 cup Ketchup

2 Tablespoons Sugar

3 Tablespoons Vinegar

2 Tablespoons Worcestershire

4 Tablespoons (to 6 Tablespoons) Onion

1 dash Tabasco

Preparation Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Combine all meatball ingredients. Roll into medium-small balls and place on a cookie sheet. Place sheet in freezer for five minutes.

After 5 minutes, remove meatballs from freezer and immediately dredge in unseasoned flour.

Brown meatballs in canola oil until just brown. Place into a baking dish.

Combine all sauce ingredients. Pour over meatballs and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

I heart this and you can be sure that any future hit recipes that I either dream up or come accross will make their way here. As always the site I located it on will be credited... if the origin of said recipe is mentioned there I will pass it on.

Now off to see if anyone else has come up with a spectacular plan for the evening meal!

Married life... Month 3

For those of you who have not dropped in to visit, Mike and I are entering into our third month as a happily married couple. I will choose not to rehash the details of said wedding here (you can also check here), as i have already done so. Instead, as we enter into spring, let's talk about how things are now!

How things have changed... or not

Sometimes I feel like there should have been some sort of a change after our marriage. There hasn't been. It's pretty much the same except for the obvious (and slow) progression of my change in last names, and the fact that we both have a new peice of jewlery to wear each day. We still share a house with three other people, sleep in the same bed we did before our marriage, still have the same financial stability that we did, still hang out with friends and family with our previous regularity. Literally nothing has changed in the way we feel about each other and how we interact.

This may mean that we were pretty much a boring married couple prior to ever getting married... I'm completely okay with that!

What really has changed...

What really has changed is that people ask us all manner of questions about when we plan to start a family, how many children we intend to grace this world with, and any other sometimes inappropriate question surrounding producing a family that they can think of.

Here is our canned answer for all of the questions:

Dear Family and friends:
Mike and I are not planning on having children at this time. This is not to say that we will never have children, simply that we are not planning for it at present. This will not be on any agenda for discussion until such time as we are no longer sharing a home with 3 other people, 3 large dogs and a cat. With how full the house is presently, we feel that there should be a partridge in a pear tree present as well. We understand that you are simply interested and invested in our lives, but rest assured that should such a time arise that we are with child, we will most assuredly shout it from the very rooftops. And all forms of social media. Also an e-mail will likely go out. Possibly even a phone call.

Love,
Mike and Mari

Well, that's all we have for today be sure to check back again soon!

Introducing. . . US!

Our wedding was unfortunately a small one. Sure it was beautiful and I wouldn't trade it for a darned thing in the whole world, but it was small. As a result of it's size . . . and possibly due to the abruptness with which we decided to get married, many members of our family and friends have not yet had the pleasure of meeting either myself or Mike. This makes us both sad.

But wait! I have hit upon a solution: I will simpy introduce us here! Check past the break to actually get to know us!

Welcome to the party gang!

It was time to roll out the welcome wagon, and introduce you to the new blog!

Come on in, and take a load off! Pull up a chair, and we’ll get to know each other as I attempt to juggle life, love, carreer, family and newlyweddom. Many of these aspects are overlapping, but I like to give each aspect it’s own “category” so that it gets time on my plate in its own right. I know, I know, a tad anal retentive… but hey, we do what we can!

This blog will be mostly directed towards family and friends, though any and all who wish to pull up a cozy chair and a glass of wine are more than welcome here.

We’ll be seeing y’all round here soon!
